Creation process
Antoine Brodin shapes glass as a medium bridging worlds. Playing with the solid and viscous nature inherent to glass as a material, as well as with cultural symbols, his work seems to continually return to themes of impermanence and memory, straddling the boundaries between craftsmanship and contemporary art. Technique has its say, takes on its full meaning, and supports the intent conceptually. The idea always overlaps with it. He experiments and sets constraints. But above all, he creates paintings. He creates narrative situations, moments, stories, images and sensations, dreams.
He uses signs and symbols as a universal language to explore our relationship to the Self, to others, and to the space that connects them.
Each work, each series, is born in this vibrant in-between, at the boundary of the tangible and the ineffable, where matter becomes memory and sculpted silence.
