“Gabriele Chiari develops her work around a medium, watercolor, the possibilities of which she experiments through large formats, unexpected because generally little is used
with this type of technique. This deployment is by no means a concession to the spectacular; it exacerbates the ambiguity inherent in watercolor, that of being somewhere between drawing and painting. “
