Hans Schüle

His story

Hans Schüle was born in 1965 in Neckarsulm, Germany.

He completed his formal training in painting and sculpture at the Akademie derBildenden Künste,Munich and the Hochschule der Künste, Berlin between 1991-1997.

Hans Schüle’s works with many different mediums, but he is particularly drawn to metal. He enjoys juxtaposing medium and content through sculpting soft, organic forms. In his abstract metal works there is a sense of unabashed opennessmitigated by an enduring formal tension. In addition to sculpting the space through bold designs, Schüle’s works carefully dialogue between art and the natural sciences.

Hans Schüle has received numerous scholarships and awards for his work, and is represented by Radial Gallery.

As many of the Radial Gallery affiliated artists, Hans Schüle is used to have architects and company solicitations for commission works. Do not hesitate to contact us for any project.

Artist Statement

“In my artistic practise I submit different materials to my will. My favoured material, metal, transforms from basic elements into highly sculpted form at the touch of my hand. Often, unexpected biomorphic forms are created and three-dimensional spaces of fascinating tension are opened.

Although my works are abstract in their formal language, it is my precise intention to create a dialogue between art and science, especially in the life sciences. On occasion, these works become clairvoyant and present subtle forms, with which the sciences have yet to inform the masses.”
